#INCGiving Weekend of Service encourages everyone to put on their INC Giving T-shirts and go out into their communities to do good, wherever they are in the world.
The INC Giving Project was launched by the Church Of Christ the first weekend in April of 2011, with the first Neighborhood Appreciation Day in Los Angeles, California. Since then, INC Giving volunteers have impacted communities in countries around the world through various projects like Singing for a Cause, Teacher Appreciation Day, Art of Giving and many others, sharing faith through acts of kindness.
To commemorate the launch of the INC Giving Project, look for opportunities to go into your community during the first weekend of April 2018 and be part of the weekend of service.
If your local congregation or district has already planned INC Giving event for the first weekend of April then you’re ready to go! If not, here are some ideas:
1. Reach out to your city or local organizations and Introduce yourself!
“I’m participating in the INC Giving weekend of service, sharing faith through acts of kindness. On April 6/7, 2018, volunteers, like myself, are going out into the community to help and impact our cities.
The INCGiving Project is an extension of the global commitment to community partnership of the international religious organization Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC or Church Of Christ).”
Give them a copy of the INC Giving one-sheet for quick introduction of the project.
2. Get Everyone Involved!
Use the posters to get the word out about April 7 & 8 and share details about the project or projects your local congregation is participating in. Encourage everyone to get their INC Giving T-Shirt ready and invite a friend or two to join them!
3. Use social media and get the word out!
Use the approved graphics, and get the word out about what you, your congregation, and/or family are doing and invite others to join you! Use #INCGiving in all your posts.
On the day of the event, take photos* and share it on social media.
Don’t forget to wear your INC Giving shirt.
**Make sure to get prior permission to take photos/videos wherever you go to volunteer, as well as specifics on what you can and cannot do.
Tell us about what you’re doing and how you’ll be making a difference in your community.
Email email@example.com or submit your story on incgiving.org and the producers of the INC Giving Show will reach out to you regarding your story.
